A local resident, Peter Cartwright, is coordinating the mulching and planting of two large stormwater rain gardens at Lindau Lane and 26th Avenue South, east of the Mall of America. Peter is seeking volunteers to help him with this work for this Monday, July 16, anywhere between 4-7pm.
No experience is necessary for volunteers - instruction will be given at this event. Food & Drink will be provided for volunteers!
It would be helpful if you could bring gloves, a garden rake (for spreading mulch), a planting trowel (for planting), and a kneeling pad (if you would prefer).
If you can help, please send a confirmation email to the volunteer coordinator, Peter Cartwright, at peterscartwright@gmail.com. Peter is in the Master Water Stewards Program and is being sponsored by Hennepin County. The City of Bloomington is partnering on this project and the Bush Lake Chapter has been providing some guidance.

This is a great opportunity to help make some rain gardens that will filter and treat stormwater runoff from this newly redeveloped area of our City. These are a good example of what we should be encouraging across the City for protecting water quality in downstream lakes, wetlands and streams.
Thank you for your consideration for volunteering some of your time for benefiting our environment!
