Volunteers Needed- Saturday September 6

Summer isn’t over until the last Monarch Butterfly leaves

Minnesota on its amazing migration to Texaand Mexico .  Come celebrate summer, monarchs, and pollinators with us September 6!  Due to our grassroots efforts in advocating for a conservation minded Farm Bill and for pollinator and wildlife habitat, the Minnesota Division of the Izaak Walton League and its Chapters have been invited again this year to have a booth at the Minneapolis Monarch Festival on Saturday, September 6.

This is a great event that celebrates Monarch Butterflies and other pollinators, whose numbers are in decline.  Learn more about the event here: http://www.monarchfestival.org/

We need volunteers at our booth to greet attendees, distribute milkweed seeds (monarch's favorite plant), and to tell others about the conservation mission of the Izaak Walton League.  Last year the event welcomed 9,000 attendees.  This is a great opportunity to spread our conservation message across cultural borders, gain new members, and celebrate our work to protect pollinators.  If you can't help and just want to attend, it is great event for all ages!
