Chapter members that make up the Minnesota Division of the Izaak Walton League are very active at the state legislature level in areas involving conservation-related policy.
The Minnesota Division of the Izaak Walton League members work independently and also as part of coalitions of environmental/outdoor conservation groups, with shared interests, that work collaboratively on advocating for beneficial policies and projects that pertain to our missions.
There are many decisions made at the state legislative level that directly affect our present day environment and the stewardship of our shared environmental / outdoor legacy that we will hand off to future generations. We really need to be involved in having input in policy that will affect our environmental legacy.
One of our coalitions in which the Division is involved is the Minnesota Environmental Partnership.
Here is a great summary of state-wide environmental policy issues, through the MEP's Collaborative Priorities.
